For decades, the Women of Weymouth have gathered monthly to enjoy informative programs and plan activities for the Weymouth membership in order to raise funds to care for the Boyd House. This work continues in full measure today.
Membership is open to all women who are members of Weymouth in good standing. Monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month: January-May and September-November.
Meetings begin at 9:30 a.m. with coffee, followed by a short business meeting, and conclude with a guest speaker. Guests are most welcome and meetings are free and open to the public, except of the final meeting of the year in May. Women in this group are from all over and bring a great variety of interests and expertise, insight and laughter to all gatherings!
Weymouth Dirt Gardeners meet weekly year-round to maintain our gardens and grounds and propagate plants for our annual plant sale. Regular activities include mild-moderate physical labor tasks appropriate for all levels of ability. Prior gardening experience is not required. Regularly scheduled sessions are Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 am – 12 pm at the Weymouth Center gardens, weather permitting. Volunteers are welcome to come as their schedules permit and, after orientation, you can work at other times if that fits your schedule better.
To find out more about volunteering please contact our Director of Property Management Holmes Hall at holmes@weymouthcenter.org for additional information. Alternatively please feel free to show up at one of our regular sessions to check us out, just ask any of our volunteers to steer you to someone who can show you around and answer any questions you may have. We are always looking for plant donations, perennials and small bushes, to add variety to our offerings at the plant sale.
