Highlighting Home: A Couple of Poets Return to NC

Kimberly L. Becker and Allison Adelle Hedge Coke, will read from their poetry collections. Pushcart-Nominated Becker’s fourth collection, Flight, was
released by MadHat Press in early 2021; UC Riverside Distinguished Professor Coke’s latest book, Look at This Blue, is forthcoming from Coffee House Press
in 2022.
Free event. Please arrive in time to be seated prior to 5:30. Masks required.
Authors will be available to sign books after the reading.

Kimberly L. Becker
Kimberly L. Becker’s fourth poetry collection, Flight, was released by MadHat Press in early 2021. She has held grants from MD, NC, and NJ and residencies at Hambidge and Wildacres. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart. Reading venues include Busboys and Poets and The National Museum of the American Indian, Washington, DC. She has served as mentor for PEN America’s Prison Writing and AWP’s Writer to Writer programs. She currently lives in North Dakota, but calls the mountains of North Carolina home.

Allison Adelle Hedge Coke’s latest book, Look at This Blue, is forthcoming (Coffee House Press, 2022). She is a UC Riverside Distinguished Professor who comes from growing up and working fields, factories, horses and waters in North Carolina. Her 2021 honors include Texas Institute of Letters induction and the AWP George Garrett Award, the highest national award for service to literature in North America.
