Frank Daniels, Jr.

Frank Daniels Jr., chairman of The Pilot and retired president and publisher of The News & Observer Publishing Co. in Raleigh, comes from a family steeped in the newspaper industry. His grandfather bought the News & Observer in 1894 and served as publisher until 1948. Daniels succeeded his father as president and publisher in 1971. Under his leadership, The N&O won the Pulitzer Prize for public service in 1996. He was also the Board Chair of the Associated Press for 10 years.

David Woronoff

Since becoming publisher of The Pilot in 1996, David Woronoff has transformed the company from a local print publisher into a 21st-century media company. The Pilot continues to gather both statewide and national accolades for the quality of its journalism.
