LARRY ALLEN, A RETIRED PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH AT SANDHILLS COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE RUTH PAULEY LECTURE SERIES WILL OPEN THE SERIES WITH AN OVERVIEW CENTERED AROUND THE HISTORY OF BANNED BOOKS AND HOW THAT HISTORY PARALLELS THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NATION.
