AIMS (Authors in Moore Schools) held two fantastic events in September. With a grant from the Moore Community Foundation, author/illustrator/cartoonist Jeffrey Brown visited Aberdeen Elementary school and AIMs presented copies of his new book Lucy and Andy Neanderthal to 5th grade students.
Also, author/illustrator Abby Hanlon visited Southern Pines Primary and with a grant from the Southern Pines Rotary, AIMs presented autographed copies of Dory Dory Black Sheep to 2nd graders.  AIMS is a collaborative effort between The Country Bookshop and Weymouth Center to expose children to literature.
And on Friday, October 7th, author Alan Gratz visited Southern Pines Elementary School.  With a grant from First Bank, each 5th grader received a copy of Alan’s book, The League of Seven.  img_6431
